2010-02-05 - ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has won an order worth $15 million from Lilama Corporation for an outdoor substation and transformers as an integral part of an electrical balance of plant (EBoP) solution for the Vung Ang 1 power plant in Vietnam.
Lilama is the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor appointed to build the thermal power plant for Petrovietnam, the country’s leading oil and gas company. The plant has a capacity of 2x600 MW (megawatts) and is located in the Ha Tinh province, south of the capital Hanoi.
ABB will be responsible for the engineering and supply of a 220 kV (kilovolts) outdoor substation with 12 bays and will also supply the 240 MVA power transformers. The project is scheduled to be completed by 2013.
