2009-04-20 - January 19th 2009 ABB Ltd – Vietnam achieved accreditation to ISO 14001: 2004 Environmental Management System Std which covers all activities performed in the company in terms of manufacturing of transformers and related equipments.
As a leading Company in automation and power product, environment protection is one of the top priorities. The project to gain accreditation began in Jun-2008; ABB Vietnam launched the “Environment Action plan” to follow standards of the International Environment Management System: ISO 14001.
Additional to the initial plan we were advised a waste water treatment system should be installed to treat plant waste water prior to discharging into the town drainage system; this plant is in final construction and when operational will meet discharge waste water standards.
Procedures, instructions and training have been implemented to ensure of total compliance to the standard
Thanks to the effort of all those involved in this project success was achieved on January 19th 2009, ABB Vietnam received ISO 14001 certificate. Thus, ABB Vietnam became the first company in this key industry to receive this certificate. This is one of the various activities that the company has done in the spirit of our slogan: “Power and Productivity for a better World”.
