ABB honoured with Golden Dragon Award 2009

2010-02-03 - The Golden Dragon Awards are co-organised annually by Vietnam Economic Times and the Foreign Investment Department under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, to recognise and honour the success of foreign invested enterprises in Vietnam and their contribution to the economy.


On 24th Jan 2010, the awards ceremony was held at the Hanoi Opera House. ABB in Vietnam was honored to be one of 80 businesses receiving 2009 Golden Dragon award. Representatives from ABB were Oliver Bergmann – PPHV Factory Manager, Janpeder Dareus - PPTR LBU Manager, Nguyen Viet Phuong – PPMV LBU Manager.



Present at the ceremony from the Organizing Board were Ms Truong My Hoa – Former Vice President, Mr Nguyen Manh Cam – Former Vice Prime Minister, and Mr Dao Nguyen Cat, Editor in Chief of the Vietnam Economic Times.

Despite a lot of difficulties in 2009, Vietnam’s foreign direct investment (FDI) reached more than US$21 billion, accounting for more than 40 percent of total capital sources mobilised for the economic development. Out of that, around US$ 10 billion was disbursed.

Prof Dao Nguyen Cat said that the award criteria focus on businesses’ efforts to maintain sustainable development and promote environmental protection.
